Hide of Lenthora

Armor (hide), paragon (requires attunement)

This set of armor is made from the remains of Lenthora, a great tiger who was the true master of her jungle and a direct descendant of Shentara, the primal tiger spirit. When Lenthora died, a circle of druids made this garb and infused it with the spirit of the great tiger, which still inhabits the armor. As the wearer spends time stalking with the spirit, the more cat-like traits they take on.

The armor is made from striped orange-and-black fur, and includes a helmet made from the tiger's skull and gauntlets with razor-sharp claws.

Sentience

The spirit of Lenthora still inhabits the armor. She is chaotic neutral, with an Intelligence of 8, Wisdom of 14 and Charisma of 12. She has hearing and darkvision out to 60 feet, and communicates by sharing her primal emotions with the wearer.

While Lenthora can be aloof and playful, she is a fierce huntress. She revels in the act of stalking more than the actual kill itself, and she is sometimes inclined to let prey go at the last second if the hunt was not satisfactory.

Dormant

  • You can use the clawed paws of the armor as weapons. They count as simple melee weapons that deal 1d6 slashing damage and have the light and finesse properties. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with the claws and any other natural weapons you have.
  • You gain a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this armor.
  • The tiger spirit helps you stalk your prey, giving you proficiency in Stealth. If you are already proficient, you gain Expertise.

Quest to understand the whispers of the spirit, and to learn of the great spirits.

Awakened

  • The armor's bonus to AC and natural weapons increases to +2.
  • Lenthora enhances your tracking skills, giving you proficiency in Perception. If you are already proficient, you gain Expertise.
  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet, and you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Quest to use the armor to cast an Awaken ritual on a creature to give the tiger spirit a new home, somewhere in a pristine jungle. Upon doing so, the spirit grants you the armor's full power.

Exalted

  • The armor's bonus to AC and natural weapons increases to +3.
  • Your many hunts together have taught you the importance of the final pounce, giving you proficiency in Athletics. If you are already proficient, you gain Expertise.
  • Once per turn, when you move atleast 20 feet in a straight line towards a creature before attacking it with the claws, you make the attack with advantage and it deals an additional 7 (2d6) damage if it hits.
  • Once per long rest, you can cast the Commune with Nature spell, reaching out to other nearby spirits of nature.

All the bonuses from this item remains active if you transform into another creature, such as with a Druid's Wild Shape.
