You send a surge wave of arcane force at a creature or object in range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, they take 1d6 force damage and are pushed back 5 feet. Alternatively, you can make a melee spell attack if you are within 5 feet of the target, in which case the damage die increases to 1d8.

The spell’s damage increases when you reach certain levels. At 5th level, it deals an extra die of damage. The damage increases again by one die at 11th and at 17th level.
