Mithril

A silvery metal that is about as hard as good steel but far lighter. Mithril is only found deep underground and it is highly sought after, especially by elves. Pure mithril is slightly flexible, making it hard to work and a poor choice for making blades. It is however an excellent choice of material for armor (especially mail), as the flexibility and decreased weight makes for strong and comfortable armor.

There is a mithril mine on Iacaris that digs deep below the Rhimer Peaks. Refined mithril bars costs about 1000gp per pound.
