Patron deity: Odin

The largest island of the eponymous elven kingdom. Ruled by Queen Caerynna Hathador and Prince-Consort Aerilor Halasir from their seat in the city of Tel Edhil.

The coat of arms of the kingdom, and its ruling family, is a silver star over a silver tree on a deep green field. This represents the court of Queen Caerynna in the boughs of Tel Edhil.

Environment

Most of Iacaris is a dense, wet forest. North of the Rhimer Peaks which divide the island into two halves lies the capital of Tel Edhil and its port city of Alyn Iunaes. Alyn Iunaes is built by the delta of the river Isnelon, which translates as Clearstream. While the delta is muddy, the farther upriver you go, the clearer the water gets. Isnelon flows through Tel Edhil and is calm enough for traffic on the river to be possible in a boat that is suited to it. South of the Rhimer Peaks the forest becomes more akin to rainforest, teeming with wildlife. There are few roads through the southern part of Iacaris, but the northern part is quite densely populated.

Alyn Iunaes

The port city of Alyn Iunaes is the part of Iacaris that most visitors see first. The harbor is not that different from most human settlements, although the native ships are. The elven warships are trimarans with four masts, two on the center hull and one on each outrigger.

The majority of the windsilk produced in the Estian Islands is made in Alyn Iunaes by artificers from the Royal Arcanaeum in Tel Edhil. A ship's captain with the right contacts would have to pay upward of 20000gp for a set of Windsilk Sails.

The Rusty Anchor

Poor inn

A true dive bar, the Rusty Anchor is a bar inside an upturned ship that had washed up on the beach. The name stems from the massive anchor hanging from the keel timber, which also doubles as a chandelier. There is only one floor, and the bar is right underneath where the steering wheel would be. It smells of stale beer and musty wood. There is no door, only a large hole in the ships hull where Bighorns the Minotaur bouncer leans against the frame, ready to lay down the law if a fight escalates.

Rough seamen who visit the bar drink, share stories and play darts, dice and cards. The proprietor and bartender is a bright green lizardfolk male named Vusluk, but everyone calls him 'Captain'. All the staff are also lizardfolk, except for the bouncer Bighorns, a minotaur.

The Sea-altar

A handful of sea-stacks stand in the ocean, where the Isnelon delta meets the ocean. Narrow rope-bridges connect the stacks. This is a holy site for followers of Aegir, who regularly hold ceremonies here to gain fair winds for an upcoming journey, or to calm the sea when it is especially rough. The stacks are also a well-known landmark among sailors.

Warden Harbor

In a guarded sectoin of the main harbor, the Wardens operate a small navy of trimarans. These quick and agile ships patrol the waters around Iacaris.

Dominant culture: Agrarian

Patron deity: Skadi

South of the Rhimere the dense forests almost completely hinder long-distance travel on foot, and the easiest way to get to Tel Cindris is by boat. It is a lush town that straddles the mouth of a river that runs from the mountains. The river is not navigable, as there are many waterfalls and rapids along its path.

Tel Cindris' economy is based on farming, mostly hot-climate fruit-trees like citrus, mango, pineapple, and banana. The produce is exported to all corners of the archipelago.

Skadi's Hallow

On top of the tallest hill in Tel Cindris, a small meadow of wildflowers surrounds a large twilight maple tree. The bough of the tree forms a dome, and in its shade an altar stands to Skadi the Landmother. A flock of peacocks are kept here too, sacred birds to followers of Skadi. The shrine is kept by Heather, an earth genasi priestess with hair made from vines and flowers.

Outrider Keep

The Outriders are an elite company of Wardens mounted on armored tigers, able to move through the jungle with speed and stealth. This is where they breed their tiger mounts, and where they come back for new orders when they finish their patrols.

Other locations

Maerdris

A society of lunar elf astronomers, high up in the Rhimere in a hidden valley that is much greener than the surrounding mountains. At the center of the village is a shrine to Odin, the god of magic. The shrine holds the Starscope, which is the focal point of the astronomical research that goes on here, where the elves chart the movement of the stars and planets in order to learn about the world and divine the future. Any outsiders here would be treated with great apprehension until they proved themselves as friends, especially non-elves.

Elynna Siltirel

(lunar elf stars druid, TN): Elder druid of Maerdris, and master astronomer. She carries Antumbra.

Agatha Clearglass

(gnome master lensmaker, NG): Originally a merchant from Covenant, Agatha was recruited to maintain the elven starscope in Maerdris.

Moonwatch Grove

A druid grove where druids of the circle of the moon congregate at specific times in the intricate lunar calendar that they follow. A shrine to Skadi the Wildwatcher stands at the center of the grove.

Rhowyn Aenimon

(wood elf, LN): Archdruid and leader of the grove. She has woven powerful warding enchantments over the surrounding area.

The Narrows

A thin channel between Iacaris and Maeral, this straight is devilishly difficult to navigate by ship. Hidden undercurrents throw unaware ships onto the sandbanks and razor sharp rocks that line the shores on both sides. Only the most experienced captains should attempt to pass through here. Some elven captains have built special ships to ship goods through. Called Narrowrunners, they are low-draft multi-hull vessels powered by sail and oar.

Maer Mithril

A mithril mine that lies at the end of a narrow valley. The mine has been in use for several thousand years, and the tunnels reach far below the jungle, connecting to the Underdark.

Imon Tindoliex

The tower of the wizard Nirnevar Tindoliex, whose research was not always on the correct side of what was deemed ethical. He was not banished outright, but moved away from Tel Edhil almost 150 years ago. His tower is a hollow silver oak.

Golems

Aerilwyn's Fall

The greatest bladesinger to ever live, Aerilwyn Nilteril, sacrificed herself here to save her comrades. She was in command of the Bladesinger Guard in a battle against white dragons during the last flare-up of the dragon war. Now, the bones of white dragons and Teccan legionnaires lie together at this mountaintop, wreathed by rawsley flowers.

Undead soldiers, dragons, frost giants

Pond of the Naiads

Deep in the jungle lies a pristine pond that is home to a dozen or so naiads, as well as water elementals and . The naiads are all sisters, and preen themselves for any passersby. Beware, however, as they are master enchanters, and many adventurers have stayed by their side until hunger took them.

Ophinea

(naiad, CN): The most powerful of the naiads of the pond. She is as beautiful to behold as she is dangerous.

Deepjungle Copse

This far into the jungle, the borders between the Feywild and the Material Plane overlap. The copse lies in both planes, providing an immensely strong connection to the fey spirits. Any ritual involving fey beings would be very powerful if performed here.

Venomfang Temple

Elvish Falmondris. Once the home to a sect of yuan-ti who tried to call forth an avatar of Jormungandr to wreak havoc on the world. They were stopped by the elves of Iacaris in a costly assault, and their pyramid temples were torn down.

Half-aquatic dungeon filled with snakekin of all kinds: Medusa, yuanti, guardian naga, merrow

Aelatarisen

'The Blue Dragon Island', this peninsula is home to a handful of roosting blue dragons. The broodmother Maragosa is the oldest dragon here, and many of her children live nearby. Maragosa's lair is her wizard's tower, where she studies arcane mysteries. Wanderers who go to close can expect to at the very least be robbed of any magical items they carry, but are lucky to get out alive.
