You gain the following benefits while you wield a spear, trident, glaive, halberd, pike, quarterstaff, or greatspear:

• Creatures provoke opportunity attacks when they enter your reach.
• After you take the Attack action, you can use a bonus action to make an additional melee attack with the opposite end of the weapon. This attack deals 1d4 bludgeoning damage, and does not have any of the weapon's properties.
