Mjolnir
mjolnr
When Thor requires one of his champions to perform a great service for him, he sometimes lends them the use of his mighty hammer. This is the ultimate symbol of trust that the Stormlord can bestow on a mortal being.
The head and the handle of the hammer is made from a single chunk of silvery metal, inscribed with interwoven runes and scrollwork. It was forged in the earliest aeons of the world, long before even elven history began.
Creatures who are not attuned to Mjolnir are deemed unworthy to wield it and cannot move it. A creature who nevertheless wants to try can use their action to make a DC 30 Strength check, moving the hammer 10 feet on a success.
While you are attuned to the hammer, you can move it normally, and you gain the following benefits:
- You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this weapon.
- Attacks with this weapon deals an additional 14 (4d6) lightning damage on a hit.
- The hammer's thrown range is doubled, and it returns to your hand after you attack with it.
- When you land a critical hit with Mjolnir, the target must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + the ability score modifier that you used for the attack, or be Stunned until the end of your next turn.
- When you take the attack action on your turn, you can forgo one of the attacks to slam Mjolnir into the ground and cast Lightning Bolt, Destructive Wave, or Chain Lightning instead. You can only cast each spell once per long rest.
