Way of the Glaivebow

Monks who follow this tradition train their whole lives with a single weapon, the versatile glaivebow. It is a favored weapon among elves, but other cultures are also known to employ it.

Training with Blade and Bow

3rd-level Way of the Glaivebow feature

You gain proficiency with glaivebows, a combined weapon that consists of a double-bladed scimitar and a longbow, and it counts as a monk weapon for you.

Your Martial Arts die affects the base weapon die of both forms of the weapon, making the normal melee attacks of the glaivebow deal damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die.

When you use the weapon's bonus action attack, you can also use Step of the Wind or Patient Defense with the same bonus action.

Spinslash

6th-level Way of the Glaivebow feature

As an action, you can rapidly swirl your glaivebow around yourself until the end of your turn, letting you make a melee attack against any creature of your choice that you move within 5 feet of. You can only attack each creature once when you do this. This counts as taking the Attack action.

Once you do this, you cannot do it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Pinning Shot

6th-level Way of the Glaivebow feature

Once per turn when you hit with a ranged glaivebow attack, you can spend 1 Ki point to attempt to pin the target. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or become Restrained until the end of your next turn.

Deflect Strikes

11th-level Way of the Glaivebow feature

You have mastered techniques to deflect attacks with your glaivebow.

If a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage taken by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Monk level. If the damage is reduced to 0, you can make a melee attack with your Glaivebow against the target.

Additionally, you can use Deflect Missiles against all ranged attacks, and if you reduce the damage to 0, you can make a ranged attack with your Glaivebow against the attacker without spending a Ki point instead of throwing the projectile back.

Steel Onslaught

17th-level Way of the Glaivebow feature

When you take the Attack action, you can attack three times with a Glaivebow.
