Sapphire

Sapphires can be pale blue as the morning sky, azure as the ocean in summer, or deep grey-blue as the stormy sea. They carry the essence of the ocean in them, and are a popular choice for power cores for wands.

Some sapphires contain the permanent cold of the arctic, and these are highly prized by those who wish to harness that power. They are also a symbol of Sif, the Shieldmaiden. An oath sworn to Sif on a sapphire is said to be unbreakable.

The biggest sapphire mine in the Estian Sea is the Glimmerstone Quarry.
